Participant: Dr. Andrew Mason

Dr. Andrew Mason is an Asst. Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Michigan State University. He received the BS in Physics with highest distinction from Western Kentucky University (1991), the BSEE from the Georgia Institute of Technology (1992), and the MS (1994) and Ph.D. (2000) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. His research interests include mixed-signal VLSI circuits for signal processing and sensor interface, configurable analog circuits, biochemical sensors, and integrated microsystems. His project within the CNBI focuses on the development and refinement of fabrication processes for a post-CMOS three-electrode electrochemical interface on the surface of a microelectronics chip. He will study and model integrated microelectrode systems and explore challenges in stability, reliability, and compatibility with both CMOS circuit fabrication and biosensor interface materials. This project facilitates the implementation of high density integrated biosensor array microsystems.
